Sang Zhaohui cheers for Beijing with students in sign language

(BEIJING, September 17) -- One hundred and seventy children from the special education school in Dongcheng District, Beijing, celebrated their opening ceremony on September 1. The theme of the ceremony -- "Two Olympics, Equal Splendid" -- was chosen to encourage the students to learn Olympic spirit, enjoy the Paralympic athletes and help those in need.

At the opening ceremony, the students watched video of Chinese athletes winning gold medals, student volunteers working and teachers and students watching events. The promotional film gave a general introduction to the Paralympic Games and also explained in detail how to help people with a disability.

Students in Qianshou School also came to take part in the ceremony and displayed Olympic work. Famous anchor Sang Zhaohui hosted the Olympic Knowledge Competition. Bookmarks used as prizes for winners and presents for guests were prepared by the students. At the end of the ceremony, everyone learned the Olympic song, "Over Here," in sign language.
