(HONG KONG, September 10) -- Team Great Britain, showing their supremacy in horsemanship, extended their 100 percent record when they captured the gold in the Equestrian Team Test at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
Winner of the last three gold medals since the Equestrian competition became part of the Paralympics Games at Atlanta 1996, the three members of the team -- Grade Ia riders Sophie Christiansen and Anne Dunham and Grade Ib's Lee Pearson --
did not have to look over their shoulders at the competition after they scored 220.470 in the Team Test on Sunday night.
Tuesday night's results in the Individual Championship, which counted towards the final score, saw Dunham's 73.1 (for a gold), Christiansen's 72.8 (silver) and Pearson's remarkable 73.238 (gold) push the final tally to 439.608.
Team Germany, with Grade II riders Angelika Trabert and Steffen Zeibig and Grade III's Hannelore Brenner, captured the silver with a total score of 413.532.
The bronze went to Team Norway -- comprising Grade Ib's Jens Dokkan, Grade II's Mariette Garborg and Individual Championship winner in Grade IV Ann Cathrin Lubbe -- with a 401.603 result.
The Medals Ceremony for this competition will be held Thursday, September 11, the final day of the five-day Equestrian competition.
