| ALLOCATION OF QUALIFICATION |
The qualification is allocated to the NPC, not the individual athlete. | |
| In the case that an NPC is unable to use all female qualification
slots allocated, the respective NPC's male quota will be reduced to ensure that
the overall quota contains a minimum of 30% female athletes. In the case that an NPC is unable to use any of the female qualification slots allocated the respective NPC's male quota will be reduced to two (2) male qualification slots. | ||

| ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY | To be eligible for selection by an NPC, athletes must hold an IPC Athletics Athlete Licence and must have achieved either the "A" Level or "B" Level Minimum Qualification Standard (MQS) at either an IPC Competition | |

or IPC recognized competition during the qualifying period between 1 October 2006 to 1 July 2008. | |
| To be considered for qualification, the IPC must receive from the respective NPC the official results for the respective event from the competition at which the athlete's MQS was attained. All results are subject to review and approval by IPC Athletics. The MQS will be published by the IPC no later than 31 January 2007. | ||
| MAXIMUM ENTRY PER NPC |
An NPC may be allocated a maximum of eighty (80) qualification
slots in total between male and female. In the case that an NPC is unable to use all female qualification slots allocated, the respective NPC's male quota will be reduced to ensure that the overall quota contains a inimum of 30% female athletes. In the case that an NPC is unable to use any of the female qualification slots allocated the respective NPC's male quota will be reduced to two (2) male qualification slots. | MAXIMUM ENTRY PER NPC |
NPCs may enter a maximum of three (3) athletes per event provided
they have met the "A" level MQS. NPCs may enter an eligible athlete who has met the "A" level MQS in an unlimited number of events. NPCs that have entered less than three (3) athletes per event under the "A" level MQS may enter one (1) athlete under the "B" level MQS. NPCs may enter an eligible athlete who has met the "B" level MQS in a maximum of three (3) individual events. NPCs may enter a maximum of one (1) team in each relay event comprising no more than six (6) eligible athletes duly entered in at least one (1) individual event. NPCs may enter a maximum of six (6) eligible athletes in each marathon event. A maximum of three (3) athletes per NPC may enter each marathon event as their only event. | |

The top four (4) ranked athletes in one (1) or more individual event on the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Programme qualify the NPC for one (1) qualification slot. The maximum qualification slot quota allocation per gender for this method is as follows: | 400 male |

| In the case that there are more athletes meeting the above
criteria than available in the quota, IPC Athletics will allocate qualification
slots to NPCs with athletes that have achieved the above criteria and have the
highest performances (ie, in proportion to the world record). In the case that
there are less athletes meeting the above criteria than available in the quota,
IPC Athletics will redistribute the qualification slots through the MQS
Application and IPC Athletics World Ranking List distribution method. IPC
Athletics will publish the qualification slot quota allocation by NPC from the
2006 IPC Athletics World Championships distribution no later than 31December 2006. | ||
